Introduction

First off I should disclose that Castville isn't something I came up with. If you're curious you can check out how it began over at Television without Pity. It seems you will be able to eventually checkout the real castville over at off-screenville rather than being stuck with just my knock-offs. I wrote a couple purely for fun and (obviously) kind of got addicted to it. Realizing that eventually Smallville will go the way of all other television shows and the TWoP Castville thread will suffer the same fate shortly afterwards I thought I'd save these little ditties via blog. Now hopefully Google won't go out of business too.

There are three things I've tried to do with this "make believe" season six written by the Smallville Cast.

1. Be funny.

2. Create a season long arc as good as if not better than the guys in charge.

3. Accomplish 1 & 2 through several CV episodes that don't totally suck.

If you enjoy Castville season six you're bound to love the sequel, Castville season seven, a collaborative version currently in progress. Check it out.

Cast of Characters

Brief run down of the who's who of Castville

Erica Durance (ED) as Lois Lane: Primarily just wants to get along. Would like for Lois to be taken seriously but not overly concerned about it.

John Glover (JG) as Lionel Luthor: Cares about one thing and one thing only: that the MB is a MB. For all JG cares Clark and Lex can dress up in pink tutus and sell lemonade on the street as long as Lionel is there to undermine them.

Kristin Kreuk (KK) as Lana Lang: Most bitter of all cast members. She's completely given up on Lana and enjoys dragging the other characters into the mud. Feels slightly bad about how Lois has been portrayed so Lois is about the only character that'll get a fair shake from KK.

Allison Mack (AM) as Chloe Sullivan: All the cast is somewhat protective of their own character (except KK) but AM is the most fiercely protective of all, to a fault in fact. While Chloe's happiness is AM's biggest concern it's OK for Chloe to suffer in the short term for long term happiness. You'll notice it's hard to please AM. She's liable to accuse her cast mates of turning Chloe into both a 'bitch' and a 'doormat' in the same episode. AM is second only to Tom in her concern about portraying Clark as a hero and preserving the overall direction of the show.

Michael Rosenbaum (MR) as Lex Luthor: Almost as bitter as KK but hasn't given up completely on Lex yet. Above all Lex should be competent, the smartest character on the show in fact. Lex should never twirl his mustache. Viewers should also be able to understand where Lex is coming from. The MB outsmarting Lex is bad enough but when Chloe does it is really gets under MR's skin. MR enjoys teasing the entire cast but AM's attachment to Chloe and Tom's devotion to the show make them particularly attractive targets.

Annette O'Toole (AoT) as Martha Kent: Her primary focus is exploring the grey areas. AoT always pushes for 'good' characters to do bad things or 'bad' characters to do good things. She's the most likely to endorse a dramatic plot twist (or more crudely she loves to 'stir the turd'.)

And last but not least...

Tom Welling (TW) as Clark Kent: Integrity of the show above all else. Next priority is portrayal of Clark. Because AM is often his only ally on these two fronts they often work as a team.

The cast is constrained to follow the season arc faithfully within each episode but if I'm doing it right you'll hear the voices of the two cast members writing the episode come out a bit. As a result an episode authored by AoT and KK is most likely to include stuff which reflects negatively on various characters. Clark is more likely to be an asshat and Lex look like an idiot. As a result TW and MR are more likely to complain about it. For me that's what makes it Castville instead of just partially formed fan fic.

Other recurring Characters

Alfred Gough(AG) as Co-creator: Thorn in the side of the entire Smallive cast. TW is the creators' primary contact on the cast so they form an on again off again alliance at times.

Miles Millar(MM) as Co-creator: Thorn in the other side of the entire Smallive cast. TW is the creators' primary contact on the cast so they form an on again off again alliance at times.
